Franz Pohl, director of the Josephine Glassworks in Schreiberhau, began to experiment in 1841 with the Venetian technique of filigree. Initially used only white and red strands, in 1845 added blue strands. Cup shape based on Baroque Silesian glass. Thanks to the perfectly mastered technique this type of glass became very popular and sought after. Due to the high technical demands and steep price, only a few pieces were made, two similar cups are in the Kunstgewerbemuseu in Berlín.
