Exhibited: Salon de peinture et de sculpture, Paris 1888, no. 773.
Born in Paris, by 1882 the painter was already a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889). He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon between 1882 and 1888. During the early 1880s Maurice Delondre lived at 32 rue de Washington in Paris; his neighbour at number 34 was the famous fortune-teller Blanche de Kerastel who is perhaps depicted in the present lot. His work "Dans l'omnibus" (1880) hangs in the Musee Carnavalet.
