...Around 1950/51 the first sculptures in wood and stone were created; 1954 he joined the artists’ group ‘Der Kreis’.
His penchant for working en plein air led to the foundation of the ‘First Symposium of European Sculptors’, which takes place on an annual basis in the quarry of St. Margarethen in Burgenland and has been a source of inspiration for many similar subsequent events worldwide. Typical of Prantl’s sculptures are smooth, polished surfaces, either covered with grooves or meanders or modulated by protuberances and cavities. In 1986 he participated in the Biennale in Venice.
