Designed in 1920, executed by the Wiener Werkstätte, hammered and chased silver, carved ivory finial in the shape of two leaves, ivory handle, pear-shaped, diagonally shaped, beaded borders, a minor blemish to the finial base, hallmarked with monogram P with star, rose mark, WW, Diana’s head, 900, assay mark and Swedish duty hallmark, height 27 cm, (B).
Lit.: A contemporary illustration is preserved in the WW Archives at the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts (ÖMAK), Vienna with inventory no. WWF 96-238-2, along with the preparatory sketch with inventory no. KI 12668-7-1.
