A beer ladle with a rounded ladle bowl and rounded outlet. The short, round handle is crowned with an extremely well worked female figure, who sits on a four-legged stool. The woman wears a bracelet of brass on her right arm. All together carved from a single piece of hard wood and coloured black and brown. A very rare, elaborately decorated object of daily use of the Senufo people, with a visibly old, worn shiny patina and traces of long usage. No damage. H: 26 cm; W: 10 cm (the ladle scoop). First half of the 20th century. (ME)
