21 items: guitarist height 14 cm, flautist height 13.5 cm, hurdy-gurdy player height 14 cm, clarinettist height 13.5 cm, double bass player height 12.5 cm, triangle player height 14 cm, bugle player height 15 cm, pianist height 13.5 cm, trumpeter height 13.5 cm, harpist height 13 cm, violinist height 13.5 cm, bagpipe player height 14.5 cm, drum and pipe player height 16 cm, 4 singers height 12.5-13.5 cm, bassoon player height 14.5 cm, timpanist and timpani carrier height 14, 13.5 cm, band master with music stand height 17.5 cm, porcelain, polychrome and gilt figural group, gilt-accented rocailles bases, some small repairs, Meissen, underglaze blue sword mark, circa 1960, model by J. J. Kändler circa 1747 (Ru)

Lit.: VEB Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen, the series of monkeys playing music were modelled by Johann Joachim Kändler circa 1750 after French precedents. The male monkeys are depicted as musicians and the female ones as singers. Peter Reinicke revived and added pieces to the Monkey Band in 1765. According to tradition, it is meant to be a caricature of Count Brühl’s music ensemble.
