On a raised base, he sits with his head held high in the saddle on a stallion performing a courbette, imperiously holding a marshal’s stick in his right hand and the reins in his left. Assuming the appearance of a powerful ruler, he is wearing the armour of a Roman emperor, his gaze fixed decisively on a distant point, porcelain, polychrome and gilt figural group, height 35 cm, with wooden base height 55 cm, probably Edm. Samson, Paris, apocryphal blue sword mark to unglazed base circa 1875, variant model after J. J. Kändler circa 1753 (Ru)
