From the ownership of Samuel von Brukenthal (1721-1803), from 1777-1787, he was governor of Transylvania. Samuel von Brukenthal was a freemason and representative of the Saxon National University. In 1762 he was appointed provincial chancellor of Transylvania. He was a great collector and amassed a library in Transylvania.
