Note: The decor on the basket of the famous M1889 sabre is slightly different, especially at the opening for the tang, and is semi-circular, rather than pointed in the area of the blade edge, thus making the two-headed eagle closer to the blade. Enclosed is a copy of a contemporary photo, showing the wearer in uniform with this sword, inscribed on the reverse 'Siebenbürgen im Jahre 1912',
