Austria c.1480, the shaft painted in the colours of the House of Habsburg (white-red), octagonal heavy barrel with two stamps, the touch-hole located on top, slightly bulged muzzle, the barrel secured to the shaft by two strong wrought-iron bands, the centre of the shaft with circular opening cased above and below by a square iron sheet metal, the rear section also with wrought iron mount with ring, allowing the cannon to be swivel-mounted, barrel length approx. 38 cm calibre length 31 cm, calibre diameter approx. 4 cm, total length 112 cm, weight approx. 30 kg, (He)
Note: Cannons such as these were used in fortresses for the protection of bridge crossings, gates and passageways.
