A censer in the form of an archaic gui
China, Qing dynasty, 17th/18th century
Bronze, with two large taotie masks to each face, framed by small dragons, the handles cast separately in animal form and affixed with nails and by means of soldering. Archaic bird motifs to the foot, to the underside, a six character Xuande mark. One handle loose and reaffixed. Height: 9.1 cm; Ø 10.3 cm. (BA)
