A very rare icon from Kiev, Virgin of Achtyr. The oklad engraved in Cyrillic "with a depiction of the miraculous icon Virgin of Achtyr, epiphany 1739." On the reverse side, a description of the property situation: "This holy icon was … to my dear son, the staff lieutenant-colonel Maximowitsch Pawel Wasilijewitsch, by the uncle of my mother Alexandra Nikolajewna, born as Daragan, in the village Prochorowka 1905, Poltawa administrative district ......" Add. inscription 1748: "This holy icon, property of the Daragan family. The icon of the Virgin of Achtyr was venerated as miraculous; based on the decisions of the synod of 1751, the practice spread, in particular in the Charkow diocese.”
