Mixed lot (4 items): Tibet: Two tea bowls made of root wood set in silver, a silver 'saddle-ring' with a red coral pearl, and a silver hair ornament with a large turquoise. - Tribal Art

1: A Tibetan tea bowl made of hard root wood, elaborately decorated with silver: the bowl is lined with silver, with the silver decorations below embossed, cast and engraved. Its low foot is additionally decorated with polished and set coral, turquoise and lapis lazuli. DM: 12.2 cm (upper rim).
2: A second Tibetan tea bowl made of hard root wood, also elaborately decorated with silver: the bowl is lined with silver; the bottom is encircled by a silver band of cast, engraved Tibetan good luck symbols. Its low foot is likewise set in silver and decorated with polished and set coral, turquoise and lapis lazuli. Due to various similarities, both tea bowls may possibly stem from the same workshop. DM: 12.5 cm (upper rim).
3: A 'saddle-ring', a typical piece of Tibetan male jewellery in the form of a horse saddle. Cast and engraved silver, with a coral pearl set on top. It still has the original textile wrapping to decrease its size. Dimensions: 4.2 cm x 3.3 cm.
4: A Tibetan hair ornament, silver and set with a large turquoise. Dimensions: 2 cm x 6.5 cm.
All 4 objects have old patina and noticeable signs of wear as a result of protracted use. 19th century. (ME)
