The front of the bracelet features a round shield with a soldered eight-point star. At the back of the shied, spirals of thick silver wire develop in four sections to the left and to the right. They terminate at the back in smooth finials decorated with one silver flower each, on a pentagonal bridge used for opening the bracelet. On one side of the bridge is a hinge, on the other a screw top with an ‘inverted’ (English) threaded fitting. An inscription in Indian characters is engraved on one side of the bridge, whilst the other side features the hallmarked initials ‘M. F.’.
A beautiful, rare jewel with good traces of usage. First third of the 20th century; DM: 18 cm x 16 cm (on the outside); 11 cm x 11 cm (on the inside). (ME)
