Persia: A round, richly decorated, openwork brass vessel.
A round, flat and bulbous Persian vessel made of cast, embossed, engraved openwork brass.
In the upper section, on a short neck and below it: all-round, engraved décor bands and a large inscribed band in Arabic script. Alternating with floral medallions. Additionally, a wide, openwork band: inscribed medallions with floral tendrils (openwork), in between medallions with engraved figural scenes.
At the bottom a band consisting of seventeen round medallions with engraved human and animal figures around a central, round, geometric engraving. A small crack to the openwork lattice.
19th century or earlier; H: 10.5 cm, DM: 16 cm (upper section), c. 22 cm (middle). (ME)
