The present Cameroon sword has a very old iron blade in typical form (widening at the top) and decorated with vertical grooves. The wooden hilt is adorned with carved rings, and the large round pommel at the end of the handle is embellished with all-round carved knops. The side of the hilt bordering on the blade is decorated, and stabilised, with copper wire. The wooden sheath is enveloped and stitched with animal leather. On both sides it displays the typical carrying straps made of rattan. An old piece with matching patina and minor age damage (some knops on the hilt are broken).
Between the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century; L: 58 cm. (ME)
