1: Oromo (or Galla): A very beautiful, old neckrest, with round, conical three-tiered foot and round base. Carved from hard wood and dyed black. The lancet shaped surface supporting the neck is decorated with a cross in the centre (5 iron nails). The base features a décor of incised lines, bands and dots. Small pieces broken off at the lower edge, due to age. An object with very good, old usage patina. H: c. 16.5 cm, W: 20 cm, DM: 10 cm (lower margin).
2: Gurage: A neckrest manufactured from a whole block of wood with rounded corners, on a round base plate carved out from the same piece. Minor age-related tears. H: 16 cm, W: 9 cm.
3: Arussi or Kambatta: A neckrest with support surface and bottom board. Between them are four struts. All carved from a single piece of hard wood and dyed black. H: c. 16 cm, W: 6 cm. (ME)
