- C. B. T. Italia was founded in the mid-1950s by Giovanni Tardivo
- Giovanni's son Guido set out to include racing bikes in its range of bikes in the mid- 1970s
- Racing bikes became main focus when Bruno, Giovanni's second son joined the company
- the champions came with black chromium plating
- a neatly divided lower seat tube makes space for the rear wheel
- the seat stays connect directly onto the seat clamp bolt
- the seat stay bridge is aerodynamically profiled
- the PMP cranks are the result of the idea that the angle would even out the tread at dead centre
- today those cranks alone are coveted collectors' item
