Ersari Chuval,
South Turkestan, c. 81 x 148 cm, beginning of the 19th century, the present old specimen of a so-called ‘zig-zag’ chuval displays fine knotting with a pattern of very harmonious proportions and brilliant colour and wool quality, especially worth mentioning are its rare contour band surrounding the three central decorations, the triangular and star-shaped decorative motifs in the background of the internal short sides as well as the use of light blue, full pile with some moth damage and flaws to the lower right side edge and to the lower end, overall supplemented with new shirazi, both ends reduced, a similar specimen with more complete elem was published by Loges and displays the end decorations that are missing here.
