porcelain, cylindrical body with gilt inner rim, to exterior gilt rims, fine impasto gilt-painted leaf and floral tendrils on a white ground, gilt arches with orange pendentives, burnished gilt-painted oval rosettes on matt gilt bands, gilt meander pattern on a red band, medallion with polychrome-painted image, ‘Alexander presents Apelles with his love Campaspe’, angular gilt handle with leaf and console terminal, saucer medallion with ‘Cupid will no longer seduce hearts’, height 5.8 cm, Ø 13.4 cm, gilt rim to the underside, Vienna, Imperial Manufactory, underglaze blue shield mark, year numbers 1792, 1801 Sorgenthal era, turner no. 11 Thomas Mitterer 1797–1816, purple painter no. 44 Joseph Mann 1799–1818; he won awards, gilt design probably by Anton Kothgasser (Ru)
