France, Napoleon III period, last third of the 19th century. A two-part bureau, outstandingly decorated with marquetry in various fine woods, mother-of-pearl and brass, as well as bronze mounts and porcelain applications. The bureau has a table-like lower section with one drawer and a partly hinged writing surface. The upper section has two doors and two interior drawers. 146 x 79 x 46/47 cm. In original condition, with some ageing and traces of wear and with small losses. (PZ)
