colourless glass, of conical form, the body with applied rim and insert medallion, the rim with gilt edging, cord- and chain border on a red ground, a gold band bearing the incised dedication: "Ach laß mein Herz in deiner Lieb und Freud entzünden, ich alles was ich hab dir gib, damit dein Herz möcht finden", the medallion containing the polychrome half-length portrait, outlined by gilt edging, cord, foliage frieze and title on a red ground, the interior decorated with horsemen an architecture in én camaieu, inscribed "Die Kayserliche Reitschule" below: "Mildner fecit in Gutenbrunn 1799" on gilt ground, the foot ring with incised scenes, the empress enthroned, surmounted by curtains and draperies, the underside bearing the French coat-of-arms on a red ground, Height: 12,4 cm, Wallern, South Bohemia, presumably studio of F. Schreiber, Wallern 1878-1944, a rare and elaborate copy of a glass by Johann Josef Mildner, Kaltenberg 1765-1808, Gutenbrunn, Austria, dated 1799 (Ru)
