A large pilgrim’s flask
China, 19th/20th century. Enamel in cloisonné work. Flat, circular body with bulbous neck and two handles in the form of opposing dragons in bronze. The broader sides are each decorated with a large peony to the centre, encompassed by a multitude of smaller, colourful flowers and leaves in green and blue hues over a flower meadow with lingzhi. The narrower sides are ornamented with flowers and leaves on a turquoise ground. A blue meander band encompasses the foot. Height: 53 cm. (BA)
