Central India, c. 11th century. Ochre-coloured sandstone. The four-armed Hindu god, Shiva in virasana seated in a projecting niche with a pointed arch and column, his main right hand in abhaya mudra, holding a vase with his left, in his upper hands his trishula and a cobra. To Shiva’s left in a side niche a dancer (?). Height: 17.5 cm; width: 13.5 cm; depth: 8 cm. Wooden base. (BA)
