The present painting shows the artist Andreas Schulze, who was born in Hanover in 1955 and exhibited together with Jiri Georg Dokoupil in the group exhibition ‘Nouveau Boheme’ at the gallery of Monika Sprüth in Cologne in 1984.
Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Andreas Schulze, Werner Büttner, Martin Kippenberger, Walter Dahn, Markus Oehlen and his brother Albert Oehlen influenced the German painting oft he 1980s with their neo-expressionist art and were representatives of the ‘Neuen Wilden’.
