Flemish manufactory (Belgium), c. 281 x 175 cm, end of the 16th century, from the middle of the 16th century onwards Enghien was a centre for the production of large-leaf tapestries with rounded thistle leaves, teasels, small flowers and thin-stemmed perennials, only the borders feature red and brown tones, whilst the background is dominated by different shades of green, the present tapestry was manufactured in a rare small format and is in an exceptionally good state of preservation, wholly complete, mounted on new supporting linen.
