2006, for Saporiti, Italy, metal frame, the upholstered seats covered with blue fabric, height 40 cm, c. 370 x 353 cm. (DRAX)
Provenance:
Saporiti Italia Collection.
A unique piece. Presented by Saporiti at the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro on the occasion of Inside Art 2006 in Milan. A prototype that never went into series production.
“Web-Seat” allows creating seat environments for rigid or informal groups of audiences. The octagonal beams building the seat structure prompt the composition to move in and out, reversing the concept of inside and outside and front and rear and allowing optimum communication among the ‘inhabitants’ of the module and their ‘outside’ world. The seat plays a central and neutral role at the same time, depending on the use and the position assumed by the object’s users.
