Mixed lot (2 items): India, Tibet: An Indian ‘Shiva lingam’ made of stone and a Tibetan silver bowl.
1: India: A ‘Shiva lingam, the abstract symbol of the Hindu god, Shiva. Made of reddish-grey stone, with beautiful, red inclusions (for a more detailed explanation see cat. no. 182). H: 18 cm. 2: Tibet: A libation bowl, embossed in good silver. The eight panels are externally engraved with the eight symbols of good luck in Buddhist Lamaism. On the underside, a large lotus blossom with a ‘yin-yang symbol’ at its centre. H: 5 cm, DM: c. 11 cm. (ME)
