Mixed lot (3 items): Tuareg, southern Algeria: Three daggers of the Tuareg people.
Three Tuareg daggers with finely engraved, pointed iron blades. The hilts covered in leather, one black with embossed and etched decorations, the two others made of brown, plaited leather. All three display iron projections on the ends of the handles. The sheaths covered in carefully embossed leather, one black, two brown. Old, beautiful items with good usage patina. First half of the 20th century; L: 36 cm, 35 cm, 33 cm. (ME)
Provenance: Purchased in Tamanrasset, in the region of the Hoggar Mountains. Austrian private collection.
