The present devotional panel is stylistically close to the work of Niccolò di Liberatore, L‘Alunno (Foligno 1430–1502).
Alunno was a pupil of Bartolomeo di Tomaso. He was long considered to be Benozzo Gozzoil´s pupil, but it has been suggested that they were in fact contemporaries. Benozzo Gozzoli pictorial style has been formed in Fra Angelico´s workshop. Alunno painted banners for religious processions, as well as altarpieces as small devotional pictures. His influence was important for Umbrian painting and he is supposed to be the master of Perugino, Pinturicchio and Andrea di Luigi.
