The German painter and graphic artist Friedrich Wilhelm Albert Dressler studied art at the Berliner Akademie with Wilhelm Schirmer. His main focus was on antique, native and landscape motifs. The painting Women at the well shows young women with antique clothes in a spectacular landscape. After much travel and many exhibitions his art career came to an end in 1894 after an eye operation and a stroke
