bust of a child, a boy wearing yellow brocade bonnet decorated with gold braid, a floral stem, white and black ostrich feathers with a blue bow, below which a white lace bonnet, white ruched shirt with ribbons undone, jacket with gilt scalloped edges and yellow lining, around his shoulders a shawl in light purple with dark purple leafy stems and gilt dots, porcelain, gilt-accented rocailles socle, height 25 cm, floral stem with some adhesive, rim to base with small chips, Meissen, blue sword mark on unglazed base, 1st half of the 19th cent., painter no. 78, model by J. This bust of a child is the portrait of the son of the Grand Dauphine Louis of France, Duc de Bourbon 1729-1765, from his second marriage to Maria Josepha of Saxony-Poland 1831-1767. Lit.: I.
