terracotta, 2 parts, Height (group incl. plinth): 66 cm, Length: 40 cm, Height (plinth): 10 cm, group with 1 replaced wagon wheel, 2 finger tips restored, both parts cleaned, Josef de Cente, Wiener Neustadt, incised MB, impressed letter mark with Austrian eagle ca. 1870, on both parts (Ru)

When the k. k. Aerarial Porcelain Factory in Vienna was shut down in 1864, the k. k. Österr. Museum received a large number of drawings of “… molds for group figures”; In 1869 De Cente put on display several such terracotta figures, most of which were accepted by the “Österreichisches Museum”;

Paris, handsome prince of Troy, son of Priamos and Hekabe, who abandoned him on Mt Ida, where he later met Aphrodite, Athena and Hera. In their quarrel he found in favour of Aphrodite.
