1996/97, for the stores of the fashion designer Walter van Bierendoncke, manufactured by MN Ltd., Paris, yellow and green polyurethane, embossed factory mark: KISS THE FUTURE/ W & LT/shop concept/designed by/ MARC NEWSON, height 81 cm, width 50 cm, depth 60 cm, height of seat 42 cm. (DRAX)

This chair was part of a commission and did not go into serial production. “W & LT” stands for “Wild and Leather Trash”. Van Bierendoncke, a graduate from Antwerp Fashion School, gave Newson free rein in the conception of his stores. Newson designed modular shelves on castors, tables, and chairs in green, red, yellow, white, and black, all of which were easily transportable and could be variably installed. They were used to furnish some 40 stores and a fair stall.
