A rare serving trolley, Carl Auböck *
Vienna, c. 1951/53, steel rods, white lacquered perforated sheet iron, smoothed and laminated wooden wheels, height 59 cm, 65 x 54 cm. (DRAX)
A unique piece. With a certificate issued by Carl Auböck Archiv, Vienna.
This trolley is a special edition piece of the serial trolley mod. no 4539. It was commissioned by a Viennese family befriended to Carl Auböck and thought to be used also outdoor. The serial trolley typ had its iron frame lacquered in matte black, the shelves were woven with bondoot cane and the wheels were produced of turned playwood with clear lacquered finish. Unusually, in this special version the slobs were made of perforated iron sheet metal and the surface was treated with white enamel paint.
