An early version of this design produced in the silversmith workshop of Danish court jeweller A. Michelsen. Later on, the cutlery set, which was originally used in the restaurants of the SAS Hotels in Copenhagen, went into series production with Georg Jensen. The form was so avant-gardist that Stanley Kubrick had the astronauts eat with it in his science fiction film “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
