We are grateful to Dr. Bernd Konrad, Radolfzell, for his kind assistance in cataloguing the present painting.
Konrad sees stylistic relationships between the present painting and the oeuvre of the Master of the Florian Winkler Epitaph, who received his name from the tomb of Florian Winkler, a mercenary leader, in Wiener Neustadt Cathedral. Both this master, who also painted the twelve representations of prophets in Wiener Neustadt Cathedral, and the painter of the present work are followers of the Vienna Schottenstift Master.
