Stamped under the top “CH. VAN ROYE. PARIS”, modelled after the work of the Paris master cabinet makers such as Gilles Jaubert, Martin Carel and Leonard Baudin, and made in the late 19th/early 20th century. A serpentine bombé form with marquetry floral panels in various types of rosewood, also with bronze mounts, two sans traverse drawers and a marble top (Breche d’Alep.). 89 x 145 x 65 cm. In cared-for condition, the marble somewhat chipped. (PZ)
