Venice, mid 18th century and later. A softwood chest with rich bombé and serpentine shaping on all sides, richly carved with trailing leaves, rocaille and shells, painted gold and with a later painted ground and Chinoiserie decoration. The chest has two drawers and a later marble top. 88 x 140 x 70 cm. Upper areas of paintwork stripped, wood parts replaced, some ageing and wear. (DOC)
