1: A chair of the Guro people, assembled from ten pieces of brown wood. Among the Guro, these low chairs are the private property of old people. Before sitting on one of these chairs, it is necessary to ask its owner for permission. H: 54 cm (in total), seat: H: 24 cm, W: 41 cm, Depth: 30 cm.
2: A small stool from Burkina Faso (Senufo). Made of light-coloured wood. A projection serving as a handle is carved on the narrow side, representing a neck and a head with crested coiffure. The seat and handle projection feature a linear, geometric incised decoration. H: 20 cm, L: 39 cm. Both objects display good, old usage patina. (ME)
