A heddle pulley made of wood, dyed black. In the form of a ‘Calao bird’ (hornbill), the ‘sacred bird’ of the Senufo. With visible signs of wear near a rotation hole for the heddle (the inside painted over with secondary black). First half of the 20th century; H: 15.8 cm. (ME)
