Turkey, manufactured at the end of the 19th century, c. 132 x 91 cm, embroidered prayer rug (seccade) on beige linen with edging, surface-filling embroidery with cotton yarn and gold and silver coloured metal threads, the peep hole at the top of the mihrab reveals a view of a city of domes and towers, the embroidery additionally displays many cartouches with inscriptions, a cypress-like central motif, stars and crescents, this piece is in a good state of preservation with good colour, the edging is slightly damaged.
