South Turkestan, c. 94 x 155 cm, no later than the mid-19th century, its knotting quality, its soft feel and its archaic pattern, especially on the side borders and the images of trees in the elem end, suggest that this striped chuval is very old, both ends trimmed, side edges rebound, consistently low pile with some minor bare areas with exposed warp threads.
