The hand-colored maquettes were used as a model for the colored aquatints, which are included in the book „Lapidari“, published by Aimé Maeght, Barcelona 1981. In the works Miró contrasts printing and painting, line, and shape.The dark shapes of the etching and the feathery painting contact each other in an equally harmonious as tension-filled relationship.
