Lord Francis Leveson-Gower (1800-1857), the later Francis Egerton 1st Earl of Ellesmere, was an English politician, author, president of the Royal Geographie Society and supporter of artists. He travelled throughout Europe and particularly in the Mediterrenean countries and in the Holy Land.
