On 8 December 2005, the old Hungerburg Funicular, a listed monument, was shut down. After a period of two years, Innsbruck Nordkettenbahnen put the newly built funicular back into service on 1 December 2007. Its base station is located right near the Innsbruck Congress Centre. Zaha Hadid said that she had drawn her inspirations from the region’s ice, glaciers, and snow-covered scenery. The line has four stations: Congress, Löwenhaus, Alpine Zoo, and Hungerburg. With a framed design behind glass.
