(1782-1859) wooden board cut by his own hand, oval, 10.5 x 9 cm, inscribed on the reverse: “ “Großpapa von Erzherzog Johann im Jahre 1840 erhalten” [Grandpa received it from Archduke Johann in 1840], (Lu)

Gift of Archduke Johann to Vinzenz Huber. The wood texture in the front contains a depiction of the Mariazell Mother of Mercy.

Provenance:
Vinzenz Huber (1771-1853), mayor of Bruck an der Mur, ‘Hammerherr’ (owner of a hammer mill) in Mürzzuschlag, friend of Archduke Johann.
