This is the transference of a familiar graphic design from the 1960s and 70s – used in industrial applications like aluminium sheeting, rubber linoleum and ceiling panels – to a colourful Oriental rug. Two different cultures far apart in time and space illustrate how traditional ethnic repertory can be integrated into a contemporary visual language.
