porcelain, polychrome and gilt painted, of pitcher form, the body with wide gilt edging, the handle with ears of corn wound with a light purple band, surmounted by a boy with flower and basket of flowers, the neck and foot with moulded oak leaves, with a polychrome painted scatter of flowers on white ground, the facing side of the baluster with a seated figure of Luna, the goddess of the moon with crescent moon in her hair, as Diana, goddess of the hunt with her bow in the right hand, the quiver on her back, facing her from between oaks is Pan playing the syrinx, in the middle distance a mountain temple in an expansive gill- an forest landscape, 2 hounds facing a deer at bay, 1 hound pursuing a boar, 2 hounds and a stag, a fox peering from his den, 2 hounds attacking a boar, 1hound with bear by a tree, the base with a boy turning the earth with his spade, reverse side with a lake landscape with heavily forested mountains, Height: 67 cm, minor restorations, Meissen, underglaze blue crossed swords 2nd half 19th cent., model no. 309, model by Johann Joachim Kändler 1741, Serie der 4 Elemente, a very rare model of "Erde" (Ru)
