Christian Jorhan the Elder (Bad Griesbach 1727 - 1804) was an important Rococo sculptor, and executed numerous works for churches in the Landshut/Erding region, Bavaria. Amongst his works was the Immaculata of Tondorf, to the south of Landshut, 1764/65 figures for side altarpieces and the organ at the pilgrims’ church of Maria Thalheim near Erding, as well as life-size figures of Christ as Salvator Mundi, the Virgin and the twelve apostles at Landshut.
